Military Families

LaCoste Elementary welcomes our military families!

We aim to provide support to help ease the challenges military families face due to deployment and relocation.  Our Campus-Based Military Liaison serves as the primary point of contact for military-connected students and their families throughout the enrollment and exit process.  Part of the duties of the campus liaison is to aid in identifying military-connected students in the enrollment process with PEIMS ensuring the “military identifier” is coded, serve as the POC between the campus and military-connected students and families; determine appropriate campus services available to military-connected students and assist in coordinating campus programs relevant to military-connected students.

Introduction to our registration process

Step one is to start the registration process!  You can view the process by clicking HERE.  Once your child has completely registered, then your child will be ready to start at LCE! On their first day of school, our student Anchored4Life Team will greet them in the office and provide a welcome kit to them.  Parents/Guardians will be given a LCE Welcome Brochure and are welcome to join your child on a quick tour of the campus, provided you check-in with your drivers licenses.  The LCE Welcome Brochure can also be viewed here.  Students will meet their Anchored4Life Crew Members in the classroom.  The Crew Members will help your child with class routines and school procedures.  They also will invite your child to eat at lunch and play at recess to help with their transition.  If you have any questions, you can contact our PEIMS Specialist, Mrs. Shana DeLaGarza at 830-931-2243 x3017 or [email protected]
We know the challenges and sacrifices that come with moving to a new location, so we are excited to begin a new mentoring program partnering with the MVHS JROTC cadets. The MVHS mentors are paired up with referred LCE students with the goal being to establish rapport, build connections, and help by being a positive role model to the student. Many of the mentors have had similar experiences since they have parents in the military too. This program is for active duty military families only with children that may be struggling with the transition. Please reach out to Mrs. Rakowitz to learn more and if this program would be a good fit for your child.
